The career growth of colleagues motivates 40% of Kirov residents to work more actively

The career growth of colleagues has become an occasion to think about their own motivation for many residents of Kirov. According to a study conducted by SuperJob, 40% of respondents admitted that a colleague's career advancement inspires them to work more actively.

At the same time, 21% of respondents noted that the success of others, on the contrary, reduces their desire to work. Another 19% said that a colleague's promotion does not affect their performance in any way, but they consider it important to seek clarification from management in such a situation.

Most often, women, as well as young professionals under the age of 35, show a positive reaction to a colleague's promotion — half of them perceive their colleagues' success as additional motivation. With age, however, such news increasingly causes demotivation.

As for the emotions caused by the news of a colleague's career growth, 31% of respondents feel respect, 18% — admiration and pride, and 17% remain indifferent. At the same time, 15% admitted disappointment and resentment, 13% — irritation. The news was a cause for concern for 9% of respondents, and 4% do not hide their envy.

It is noted that men are more likely than women to experience negative emotions such as irritation and dislike, while women are more likely to respect and admire. Young professionals are more likely to be happy for their colleagues, but they are also more anxious and envious.
