Diversify your garden: recommendations from Oleg Valenchuk's Gardening School
Paladic emphasized that, despite the unpretentiousness of such popular crops as currants (red, black, and white), gooseberries, honeysuckle, and raspberries, an excess of plantings can lead to problems. Extensive berry plantations require careful and time-consuming care, and the surplus crop, if not sold, will simply disappear. Therefore, before planting the entire area with berries, it is important to soberly assess your strengths and capabilities.
Alexander Paladic's lecture was not limited to a simple enumeration of varieties. He elaborated on the selection criteria suitable for the climate of the Kirov region. According to the expert, it is better to purchase seedlings from trusted local producers. This ensures that the varieties comply with the stated description, adapt to the local climate, and minimize the risk of acquiring infected plants. Distrust of questionable offers will save you time, effort, and money.
We remind you that there are two more face–to-face classes ahead: on April 8, a lecture on "Rules for caring for roses" will be held at the Family Recreation Center, and on April 17, "Effective ways to control pests in the garden" at the Cosmos Recreation Center. All participants of the face-to-face classes will receive free seed kits from the five most popular vegetable crops.
On April 1, a new season of the Oleg Valenchuk Gardening School project started. It's not just online lectures. The Vkontakte group provides an opportunity to receive individual consultations from experienced agronomists. Questions about growing seedlings, treating diseases, and pest control can all be answered. The School's agronomists are ready to promptly help resolve any difficulties that arise for gardeners. You can ask questions in the group's private messages.
– The Union of Gardeners is always happy to help those who work on the land and take care of it, – said Oleg Valenchuk, State Duma deputy, Chairman of the Union of Gardeners of Russia. — The horticultural school in the Kirov region is one of the most successful in the country. It is very gratifying to see a large number of people in the classroom. Such a lively interest is the main evidence that we are doing a very important and necessary thing!

On April 1, Alexander Paladic, Head of the Kirov State Horticultural Committee, gave an online lecture on the selection of berry shrub varieties for the climatic conditions of the Kirov region. This is a great opportunity to learn how to get a plentiful and high-quality harvest without turning your plot into an industrial plantation.
