The "blood Moon" will rise in the sky tomorrow
A total lunar eclipse or "blood moon" will occur on March 14 from 06-57 to 13-00 Moscow time. "Bloody" — because even in full shadow, the Moon is not completely hidden, and due to the refraction of sunlight, the Earth's satellite can turn copper-red. The maximum shadow phase of the eclipse will be at 09-59 Moscow time: The moon will pass through the northern part of the penumbra of the Earth, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.
However, Kirov residents, like most Russians, will not be able to observe this astronomical phenomenon. The eclipse will be visible to residents of the Americas, Western Europe, West Africa, and the Pacific Ocean. In Russia, the "blood Moon" will be visible tomorrow only in the far northeast: in Chukotka, Kamchatka and the Magadan region.
Note that this is the first total lunar eclipse in two and a half years. The next lunar eclipse will occur on September 7, 2025: from 18-28 to 23-55 Moscow time.
