Liu Qixin "The three-body problem. Book 2": how not to disappear in the game
Let me remind you that "The Three-Body Problem" (16+) is Liu Qixin's most famous and titled novel. In addition to being nominated for the Hugo, Nebula, and Galaxy Awards, he was also successfully filmed as a series developed by the creators of the iconic Game of Thrones (18+). The series has added hundreds of thousands of fans around the world to the already rich fandom of the talented author from China. Therefore, it is not surprising that the novel has received another interpretation — graphic, in the form of the now popular Manhua.
The second volume continues the nanotechnology scientist Wang Miao's own investigation. He witnessed a series of strange deaths of colleagues — they all passed away, referring to the fact that the limit of knowledge of the universe has already been reached. In order to find out what was going on, Miao was infiltrated into the Frontier of Science organization, whose members committed suicide. The investigation leads Miao to the game "Three Bodies" - all the threads of death are drawn to her. Miao finds access to a special costume capable of experiencing the sensations from the game in reality, and connects to the virtual world.
Actually, half of the second volume is devoted to the description of the "Three Bodies" setting. In the game, the era of order is replaced by the era of chaos, the sultry heat of fierce cold in the most unpredictable order. Sometimes several times a day. To survive turbulent times, people use dehydration - the complete expulsion of water from the body. And in such a dried-up state, the "beer roaches" are going through turbulent times. After that, they are simply thrown into the water, where they swell in the water like Chinese toys. That's how they come back to life. Overall, this is a mega-interesting description of the world, and Qixin has once again proved that he is a recognized master of fictional universes. But the main intrigue of Roman Manhua's story has not even begun yet, so we are looking forward to the third volume!
