In the Nagorsk district, the court proceedings regarding a serious crime committed at the end of last year have been completed. The state prosecution was supported in court by representatives of the local prosecutor's office, and the court issued a guilty verdict against a 42-year-old resident of the district.
The investigation and the court established that the incident occurred on the night of December 2 to 3, 2025, in the village of Shevyrtalovo. A conflict erupted between the defendant and his acquaintance, during which the man, driven by personal animosity, knocked his opponent to the ground and then struck him on the head with a metal pot. The resulting bodily injury was classified as serious harm to health, and the subsequent death of the victim, according to the court's verdict, was deemed a consequence of the defendant's negligence.
The actions of the convicted person were classified under part 4 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Intentional infliction of serious harm to health resulting in the victim's death due to negligence). The judge agreed with the position of the state prosecutor regarding the sentence - the man was sentenced to 9 years in prison.
In addition, the court satisfied the civil claim filed in the interests of the deceased's son. Compensation for moral damages was awarded from the convicted person, the amount of which was set at 795,000 rubles.
The defendant's lawyers and he himself disagreed with the decision and filed an appeal with the appellate court. However, the higher court, having examined the arguments of the appeal, rejected it, recognizing the guilty verdict as lawful and justified in terms of the conviction.
The convicted person will serve the imposed sentence in a special regime correctional colony. As indicated in the case materials, this decision is due to the presence of an unexpunged criminal record for a crime provided for by article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder). After the final decision was announced, the convicted person was taken into custody and sent to the place of serving the sentence.
