The governor of the Kirov region, Alexander Sokolov, reported that yesterday evening, July 24, he signed a decree for a three-day mourning period in memory of those who died as a result of a missile strike on an enterprise in Kirov. It will last from July 25 to July 27.
According to the official, flags will be flown at half-mast during these days. Television and radio companies have been advised to refrain from broadcasting entertainment programs. Additionally, authorities have canceled sports, cultural, and entertainment events.
Sokolov added that additional security measures have been implemented in crowded places in the region. He did not specify what exactly those measures are.
The government of the Kirov region has decided to allocate 1.5 million rubles to the families of the deceased. Furthermore, it promised to provide assistance to the injured. Payments are also provided by the enterprise that was hit by the missile. The governor described these payments as "significant."
In addition, the region will allocate additional funds to Kirov for the repair of damaged homes and organizational buildings.
