Migrants were checked on the central streets of Kirov.

Employees of the military investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov garrison checked documents of citizens in the city center. According to the law, men of conscription age who have obtained Russian citizenship are required to report to the military enlistment office within two weeks after taking the oath, even before receiving a passport. However, practice shows that this rule is often ignored.

"As practice shows, they do not do this immediately," the agency notes. During the raid, it was established that individuals who had previously violated migration legislation are currently registered for military service.

This year, dozens of violators have been identified in the region. After the checks, they were registered for military service, and migration legislation was brought into compliance. Violators have also been held administratively accountable.

Raids are taking place across the country, and the Kirov region is no exception. Markets, warehouses, retail outlets, and construction sites are being checked — all places where former migrants who have obtained a Russian passport work.
