At the meeting of the Legislative Assembly committee, the construction of large "waste" facilities in the Kirov region was discussed. As reported by the Minister of Environmental Protection, the construction of the "Central" waste processing complex is currently ongoing in the Slobodsky district. According to his report, it is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The total cost of the work is 2.28 billion rubles. The waste processing complex is being built with infrastructure loans. The planned capacity for waste processing is 200,000 tons per year, and for composting, it is 60,000 tons per year.
In addition, new "waste" facilities will be established in the Luzsky, Shabalinsky, Vyatskopolyansky, and Yaran districts. Waste sorting stations will be built in Shabalino and Luza, with capacities of 15,000 and 10,000 tons per year, respectively. In both cases, a concession agreement has been signed. Construction will take place in 2027-2028. The costs are 675 and 807 million rubles, respectively.
In Yaran and Vyatskie Polyany, waste processing complexes will be established, including waste sorting stations with a capacity of 20,000 tons per year, landfills with a capacity of 16,700 tons per year, and composting sites with a capacity of 8,000 tons per year. Concession agreements will be signed in June-July 2026. The work will take place in 2027-2028. The construction costs are 1.43 and 1.22 billion rubles, respectively.
