The processing is carried out on the federal highway R-243 "Kostroma — Sharya — Kirov — Perm," as well as on key regional routes. These include sections Slobodskoy — Nagorsk, Belaya Kholunitsa — Kirs, Omutninsk — Peskovka — Kirs, Kirov — Malmyzh — Vyatskiye Polyany, Kirov — Sovetsk — Yaran and others.
The Kirov Region Road Committee is responsible for more than 2,500 kilometers of roads and about 9,000 hectares of right-of-way. Approximately 800 hectares are subject to annual processing. A comprehensive approach has been recognized as the most effective: a combination of chemical treatment with mechanized and manual mowing.
Ekaterina Lysova, Deputy Head of the Road Maintenance Department of the Road Committee, emphasized that the flowering of hogweed must not be allowed. According to her, a systematic fight using all available methods for three years or more will definitely yield results. Budget funds are allocated for the work.
Andrey Chernov, head of the executive committee of the "United Russia" party in the Kirov region, added that the fight against hogweed requires cooperation at all levels of government.
