The prosecutor of the Kirov region inspected the pre-trial detention center No. 2.
On June 4, 2026, the Prosecutor of the Kirov Region, Yuri Ryvaev, conducted an inspection of the law compliance at SIZO-2, located in the regional center. The head of the regional Federal Penitentiary Service, Major General of the Internal Service Kirill Popov, participated in the event.
During the visit, the prosecutor inspected the living quarters of the economic support unit, the cells with men, as well as the blocks where minors and women with children are held. Special attention was paid to the living conditions of adolescents, the organization of their nutrition, medical care, and educational process.
The medical unit of the institution also came under close scrutiny. Prosecutor representatives spoke with the head of the medical service and personally ensured the availability of necessary medications.
In the SIZO cafeteria, the inspectors examined compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements, checked the menu layout, and reviewed the records in the established journals.
During the tour of the facilities, the prosecutors spoke with the accused and convicted individuals. Everyone interested could ask questions to the institution's management and representatives of the supervisory authority.
As a result of the inspection, it was established that the necessary material, living, and medical-sanitary conditions in the isolation facility were generally created. The results were discussed at an operational meeting with the management of the SIZO and the Federal Penitentiary Service. This information will be used in the course of further prosecutorial oversight.
