Thunderstorms bypassed Kirov in the Kirov region.
The authors of the Telegram channel "Amateur Meteorology in Kirov" reported that "lightning struck in several areas" in just one day. According to lightning detection maps (data from 14:30 to 17:10), the main thunderstorm activity was concentrated in the northeast of the region – closer to the border with the Perm Krai. Both single strikes and dense groups of strikes were observed there, and in the second half of the day, the thunderstorm center intensified but did not spread to the central areas. It is noted that two thunderstorms passed in close proximity to Kirov; however, the city itself and most of the western and central territories of the region were outside the strike zone. Some thunderstorms, according to observers, shifted to the east of the region – this scenario was not confirmed by earlier calculations.
