Energy consumption is increasing in the Kirov region.

      At the meeting of the Legislative Assembly committee, the consumption of electricity in the Kirov region was discussed. According to the government, in 2020 the figure reached 6.9 billion kWh, in 2021-2023 it was 7.3, in 2024 - 7.5, and in 2025 - 7.4. For 2026, 7.6 billion kWh is projected, and by 2031, the authorities expect an increase in the figure to 8 billion kWh.

      When asked about the reasons for the growth in energy consumption, given the outflow of the population from the region, the government responded that ordinary consumers are not to blame. The increase is mainly due to the rising electricity consumption by industrial enterprises. By 2030, it is expected to increase in the metallurgical and chemical industries, which will lead to an even greater rise in the figure.
