Dratchkov revealed what will happen with taxis in the Kirov region.
Today, April 23, a meeting of the Legislative Assembly committee took place in Kirov, during which the deputies reviewed a bill amending the law "On the Organization of Passenger and Luggage Transportation by Taxi in the Kirov Region." It was proposed to adopt it in two readings.
As reported by Acting Minister of Transport Artem Drachkov, the bill aims to align regional legislation with federal law. In particular, it addresses the number of taxis in the registry and the inclusion of new vehicles.
Drachkov noted that, as of March 3, 2026, there are 5,479 taxis in the Kirov registry. According to the new quota, 25% of the existing number of vehicles (currently 1,370) can be added to the registry within a year, provided they have been owned for more than six months. The inclusion in the registry will occur without any fees. According to the speaker, the limitation on the number of new vehicles is necessary because previously many registered their cars in the registry but did not use them for transportation. When asked if 25% would be sufficient to meet the needs of the population, the official responded affirmatively.
During the discussion, a question was also raised regarding new criteria for taxis. Deputy Albert Bikaluk asked whether vehicles that do not meet the criteria would be removed from the registry. Drachkov noted that all cars that have already entered the registry will remain there and will continue to do so as long as they can pass technical inspections. As for adding new vehicles to the registry, they must meet all the established criteria. Thus, the vehicles that are already in the taxi registry will continue to operate.
