In Kirov, the operation of traffic lights will be changed at several intersections.
The text discusses the intersections of Lenin and Orlovskaya streets, as well as Komsomolskaya, Melnichnaya, and Oktyabrsky Avenue. According to the administration, the innovations are related to the requirements of GOST and the analysis of traffic intensity for vehicles and pedestrians. Now, at these sections, pedestrians will be given a "head start": the green signal for them will turn on 7 seconds earlier than for cars. After that, the movement will occur in one phase. However, when the red light for pedestrians turns on, cars will be allowed to continue moving until their phase is completed. It is also noted that a conflict-free phase will be introduced at the intersection of Lenin and Orlovskaya streets. This is expected to enhance pedestrian safety and simplify left turns for drivers—by the end of the phase, the intersection with pedestrian traffic will be eliminated. Changes at the intersection of Komsomolskaya, Melnichnaya, and Oktyabrsky Avenue have been implemented as part of a traffic organization project. A new traffic light was previously installed here, and the updated mode is expected to make passage safer and more convenient, including for cars turning right.
