Kirov residents have started eating out more.

      In January-February 2026, retail trade turnover in the Kirov region amounted to 57.8 billion rubles. This is 2.9% more in comparable prices than in the same period last year. In actual prices, local residents spent 4.6 billion rubles or 8.6% more on purchasing goods than in January-February 2025.

      If we consider spending on food, beverages, and cigarettes separately, it reached 29.7 billion rubles during the specified period. The annual growth is 3.3%. Non-food products cost 28 billion rubles (growth of 2.4%).

      As for public catering, its turnover for January-February reached 4 billion rubles. This is 3.1% more in comparable prices than a year earlier. In current prices, residents of the region spent 0.6 billion rubles or 19% more on cafes and restaurants than in January-February 2025.
