In Kirov, they want to ban riding near monuments.

      In Kirov, the use of scooters, bicycles, skateboards, and rollerblades may be banned near monuments and memorials. This issue was discussed at a meeting in the city administration.

      It concerns the areas around the monuments on Oktyabrsky Avenue and Theater Square, where, according to the authorities, residents often use elements of the memorials to perform tricks. This leads to damage to the surfaces and causes dissatisfaction among the townspeople.

      Currently, relevant departments have been instructed to work on amendments to regulatory acts to introduce an official ban and administrative responsibility for violations. In the near future, signs prohibiting riding are also planned to be installed near the monuments.

      At the same time, the city already has special areas for extreme sports — in Kirov Park, and a new zone is also being prepared for opening in Gagarin Park.
