According to the website of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the proposed legal norms will protect the labor rights of young mothers who return to professional activities after maternity leave. The Chairman of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, noted that under the proposed norms, employers will not be entitled to include a probationary period condition in the employment contract for women with children under the age of three. If adopted, the law will come into force on September 1, 2026.
