"Checking archives" almost cost a Kirov resident 300 thousand rubles.
According to the police, a 67-year-old woman received a call from an unknown person who identified herself as an HR department employee. Under the pretext of "updating archive data," she convinced the woman from Kirov to dictate a code from an SMS. After that, alleged law enforcement officers contacted her, claiming that the woman's personal data had fallen into the hands of fraudsters.
To "save" her money, the pensioner was advised to urgently withdraw her savings and transfer them to a "safe account." The woman cashed out 300,000 rubles and was ready to send it to the criminals, but her daughter intervened in time and contacted the police.
The money was saved. A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident, and an investigation is underway.
