The Kirov region found itself at the bottom of the salary ranking.
According to a study by "RIA Novosti," the highest-paying sector in the Kirov region in 2025 was the production of finished metal products. However, even here, the average salary is around 90,000 rubles — significantly lower than in the leading regions.
For comparison, the Sakhalin region took first place in the ranking, where the average earnings in the oil and gas industry are about 328,000 rubles per month. Moscow is in second place with salaries in the financial sector at around 310,000 rubles. The top also includes the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Magadan region, and several other regions where high incomes are ensured by the extraction of natural resources.
Overall, the labor market in the country continues to "heat up": the average salary has exceeded 100,000 rubles, with a year-on-year growth of 13.5%. Meanwhile, unemployment remains at minimal levels — around 2.2%.
The main money in Russia is still concentrated in the extractive industries, IT, and the financial sector. These sectors are often the most profitable in the regions.
At the bottom of the ranking are Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Chechnya, and Dagestan. In these regions, even the highest salaries are predominantly recorded in the public sector.
