Kirov residents admitted whether they enjoy being idle and how they spend their "day of nothing."
In Kirov, 36% of residents perceive idleness as rest and an opportunity to relax. This data is provided by the "SuperJob" service based on a survey conducted for World Idleness Day.
Another 16% of city dwellers understand idleness literally—as a complete lack of activities. At the same time, for 14%, it is a waste of time, while 10% directly associate it with laziness. For 8%, the word is associated with boredom and apathy.
Interestingly, women are more likely than men to perceive idleness as rest—on the couch, with series or a book. Men, on the other hand, are more likely to consider it a useless activity.
The ideal "day of nothing" for most Kirov residents is seen as as calm as possible: 25% would choose watching television, using a computer, or a smartphone. Another 15% would prefer just to sleep in. At the same time, 11% would not mind spending such a day actively—on a walk or in nature.
For some city dwellers, food (6%), time with family (5%), or even a small trip (4%) are important. However, 9% admitted that they do not understand what idleness is in principle.
