      Kirov Oblast has summed up the results of its five-year gas supply and gasification program. During that time gas was brought to more than 20,800 houses and apartments.

      Under the regional gasification program, 98 inter-settlement and intra-settlement gas pipelines were built with a total length of more than a thousand kilometers. One hundred fifty settlements and 27 boiler houses have been gasified; they heat schools, kindergartens, libraries, cultural and sports facilities, and residential buildings.

      For the first time, gas appeared simultaneously in two districts of the region: Kotelnichsky and Belokholunitsky, the press service of the Kirov Oblast government reported.

      Separately, the region runs a program for final-stage gas connections — under it gas is connected free of charge to houses in already gasified settlements. As a result of its implementation, Kirov Oblast ranks sixth among Russian regions in terms of connection rates.
