Compliance with migration rules was checked at the vegetable warehouse in Kirov.
On January 16, 2026, officers of the Military Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov garrison carried out an inspection of compliance with migration legislation at the city's vegetable depot. By law, after taking the oath and obtaining citizenship one must, within two weeks, report to the military enlistment office and register for military service. However, as practice shows, not everyone complies with this requirement.
Similar inspections are carried out across the country, including in the Kirov Region. Control measures are conducted at markets, depots, construction sites and other places where persons who previously held foreign-citizen status work. With the acquisition of citizenship come not only rights but also obligations. During the most recent inspection it was established that persons who had previously violated migration legislation are already registered for military service with Kirov’s military commissariats.
Since the beginning of the year, several dozen such violations have been identified in the Kirov Region. All of them have been rectified: the records have been brought into compliance with the law, and the offenders have been held administratively liable.
