The New Year's holidays brought Kirov residents out onto the ice.
During the holidays the citywide ice rinks in Kirov were visited by more than 10,000 people. The largest number of visitors was at the rink in Yuri Gagarin Park — more than 3,000 city residents went there. About 2,000 people skated on the ice in the Kominternovsky microdistrict on Pavla Korchagina Street, the press service of the Kirov Oblast administration reported.
In the Leninsky District about 300 people visited the rink in Kochurovsky Park daily. The rink in LPK Park also became a popular venue.
Municipal rinks are open every day when temperatures are below freezing. Skate rental points are available for visitors, and contractors regularly clean the ice, flood and resurface the rinks.
