In 2025, 37 unsafe residential buildings were demolished in Kirov, mainly in the Novovyatsky District on Molodezhnaya, Militseyskaya, Svobody and Kutuzova streets. In addition, areas were cleared of dilapidated structures in the Veresniki and Lyangasovo microdistricts, the village of Russkoye and others.
According to the city administration’s press service, all the houses were vacated in advance: owners received improved apartments. During demolition, contractors were required to remove construction waste and tidy up the sites.
About 40 unsafe houses are planned to be demolished in 2026. After demolition, the land plots will be used mainly for the construction of social infrastructure facilities, municipal housing and the creation of modern public spaces.
“The work to dismantle dilapidated housing is being carried out with residents’ interests in mind and with supervision to maintain order in the areas,” the city department noted.
