Snow cyclone in Kirov Oblast: Kirov residents were told what they need to know about waste removal

      Blizzards, black ice, snowdrifts and packed snow on the roadway hinder the collection of municipal solid waste when access roads to container sites are not cleared.

      A garbage truck is a large specialized vehicle weighing 12 to 20 tonnes and measuring about 8.5 × 2.5 meters. Therefore, you cannot assess whether a particular stretch of road is passable based on the parameters of a passenger car. Where a passenger car can still get through, heavy specialized equipment may lose traction and become stuck.

      According to the regional operator, if there is a cleared and unobstructed access, the crew always carries out cleaning and waste removal.

      The regional operator asks residents of the Kirov Region to be understanding of the situation, not to park vehicles near container sites and not to block access to them. It calls on the heads of management companies to promptly ensure that courtyards and access roads are cleared of snow.
