A fire broke out in an apartment in Vakhrushi; eight people were evacuated.

      Recently, an apartment in a four-story building caught fire in the settlement of Vakhrushi in the Slobodskoy District. Responders from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) evacuated eight residents and extinguished a fire that had spread over an area of five square meters. The apartment's owner inhaled smoke but did not require hospitalization.

      At first the man told an investigator that the source of the fire was a phone. According to him, it had been charging on the side table by the sofa and suddenly ignited. However, specialists later determined that the phone had nothing to do with it. It was only scorched on the outside. The fire's origin was at the wall beneath the side table. The MChS says the most likely cause of the blaze was a cigarette butt the owner had not extinguished.
