In Kirov, Russian Railways has prepared more than 20 snow-clearing machines.
The press service of the Gorky Railway reported that the railway’s specialized equipment is ready for the winter season. In total, 21 units of equipment have been prepared for work during snowfalls and freezing conditions.
Ten snow-removal machines, six snow-clearing machines, one scraper snow-cleaner, and four track-cleaning machines with special brushes for fresh snow will be put into service. The equipment will be based at the region’s key stations: Kirov, Kirov-Kotlassky, Kotel'nich, Luza, Murashi and Lyangasovo, as well as in Balezino and Glazov in Udmurtia.
Railway workers paid special attention to preparing passenger transport. Comprehensive maintenance of suburban trains and long-distance carriages was carried out before winter to ensure stable train operations during the cold period. In addition, all employees have been provided with special winter clothing, and new staff have undergone mandatory safety training for working in freezing conditions.
