Candidates for the position of head of the administration were selected in Kirovo-Chepetsk.
On December 2 a meeting of the selection committee was held in Kirovo-Chepetsk, which determined two candidates for the post of head of the city administration. They are Igor Gagarinov and Alexander Petukhov. Subsequently the City Duma will choose which of them will sign the contract and head the municipality.
According to the administration, Gagarinov was born in Kirov in 1973. He graduated from the Saratov Higher Military Red Banner School of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, and later from the All‑Russian Correspondence Financial and Economic Institute with a specialization in State and Municipal Administration. From 1995 to 2015 he served in law enforcement agencies. From 2015 to 2023 he held the position of first deputy head of the Kirovo-Chepetsk administration. From July 2023 to November 2025 he was the head of the Veselovsky district of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. After that he served as deputy head of the Kirovo-Chepetsk administration.
Petukhov was born in 1982 in the settlement of Oktyabrsky, Falensky District. He graduated from the Moscow Humanitarian and Economic Institute with a degree in law. From 2008 to 2023 he worked in the Department of Education of the Kirovo-Chepetsk administration. Since October 2023 he has held the position of first deputy head of the administration.
