Only a third of Kirov residents support a 12-day New Year holiday.
The New Year holidays in 2026 will be the longest in modern Russian history. They will last 12 days, from December 31 to January 11. However, data from SuperJob analysts show that Kirov residents have differing opinions about that length of time off.
According to the survey, 31% of the city's residents consider 12 days the optimal option. Another 13% would like to rest longer. At the same time, 41% of respondents, conversely, would prefer shorter holidays: 8% — one to three days, 12% — four to six days, 11% — exactly one week, 10% — eight to eleven days. On average Kirov residents would like to rest for about nine days. Interestingly, 6% are ready to return to work immediately after the holidays; they do not need time off.
Women are more likely than men to support the official length of time off — 33% versus 29%. Men, however, are noticeably more likely to favor 13–14-day holidays (18% and 9%).
Age also influences attitudes toward time off. Among people under 35, 17% would like to extend the holidays. Respondents aged 35–45 are more likely than others to approve the 12-day format — 39% of them.
Those with high incomes are the most critical of long holidays. Among those who earn from 150,000 rubles a month, only 21% support the approved dates, whereas 67% would prefer to shorten the holidays.
