Kirov Oblast is among the regions with a favorable HIV situation.

      Recently the portal "To Be Precise" published a study dedicated to HIV. According to it, the most difficult situation is observed in Kemerovo, Tomsk and Chelyabinsk oblasts, Altai and Krasnoyarsk krais, Leningrad Oblast, the Komi Republic, Irkutsk Oblast, Perm Krai and the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. Those are the places where people most often become infected and die.

      The most prosperous regions were Lipetsk, Kirov and Belgorod oblasts. According to experts, they have low incidence, high treatment coverage and a small proportion of pregnant women living with HIV.

      Last year our region recorded 3.5 new cases per 100,000 people. 100% of people with HIV received antiretroviral therapy. 87% of patients had an undetectable viral load. Among pregnant women, people with HIV accounted for only 0.3%.
