The guardian of a participant in the special military operation had to go to court over denied payments.

According to the prosecutor's office, a 60-year-old resident of the Afanasyevsky District was the guardian of a 23-year-old participant in the special military operation who died one and a half years ago. He and his wife had raised him since he was seven. However, when the young man's death became known, the man was denied payments because he could not prove a familial relationship with him.

The supervisory authority intervened in the case and filed a lawsuit in court to restore the local resident's rights. The court granted the claim. Now the man will be able to receive all the payments due to him. He and his wife will also be able to take the deceased's six-year-old daughter into their care.
