A Kirov resident lost 35,000 rubles because of concrete.

In Kirov, a man providing construction services became a victim of fraud, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Kirov Region reported.

A Kirov resident posted an ad for construction work online. A potential client contacted him, and the parties agreed on the delivery and pouring of four cubic meters of concrete. The contractor went to the address and completed the job in full, but the client refused to pay, claiming he had already sent the money.

Police found that at the same time an unknown perpetrator posted his own ad seeking construction services. Another man responded to it. The "contractor" offered to carry out the same job for just 10,000 rubles and gave bank details for the transfer. After the money was received, the fraudster simply put the client in touch with the real builder and disappeared.

The perpetrator's actions caused 35,000 rubles in damage. A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, or that caused significant damage to a citizen). The police are establishing the suspect's identity.

The agency reminds people that when making transactions online they should verify the other parties and not transfer money based on instructions from strangers.
