      Today, at the end of the meeting of the Kirov City Duma, deputy Vladimir Malkov spoke. Among other things, he talked about a problem that, he said, the authorities have long failed to pay attention to — namely, the pedestrian path to the indoor athletics arena in Veresniki. The deputy noted that only one bus serves it and it runs infrequently, so it is easier for children to get there on foot. However, doing so is problematic — there is neither an adequate path nor lighting nor any of the other things needed for pedestrians to move safely.

      Kirov’s head of administration, Vyacheslav Simakov, replied that the authorities have not forgotten about the problem. According to him, they have already determined the amount of funding required for installing sidewalks and lighting. Simakov added that there is no extra money in the budget, but it must be done, so they will have to find a way. “We will move money from one place to another,” he said.
