The prosecutor's office secured the demolition of dangerous abandoned buildings in Lyangasovo.
The Prosecutor’s Office of the Leninsky District of Kirov identified violations in the maintenance of abandoned and dilapidated buildings that continued to pose a threat to residents. The inspection was carried out after citizens’ complaints and monitoring of social media reports about ruined structures unsafe for passersby. It was established that on Komsomolskaya, Vostochnaya and Matrosova Streets, as well as on Molodyozhny Proyezd in the Lyangasovo neighborhood, there are dilapidated vacant houses long no longer used for their intended purpose. These buildings had been vacated, but local self-government authorities for a long time did not take the necessary measures to demolish them. Because of the municipality’s inaction, the prosecutor filed a lawsuit in court. The court agreed with the supervisory authority’s arguments and obliged the municipal authorities to organize the demolition of the dangerous structures. Several abandoned buildings were demolished even before the court decision came into force. The Prosecutor’s Office continues to monitor the elimination of the remaining violations.
