In Kirov, a 19-year-old drug addict who abandoned her 3-month-old son was caught.
Between November 12 and 21, an operational and preventive operation called “Clean Generation – 2025” took place in the area served by the Kirov Linear Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Transport. Transport police officers checked whether minors and young people were being drawn into unlawful activities and also looked for citizens using narcotics.
According to the press service of the Kirov Linear Department, on November 18 police stopped a 19-year-old native of Kirov in the railway infrastructure area. The woman had previously been convicted and showed obvious signs of drug intoxication. She was taken to the duty station, where an administrative report was drawn up under Part 1 of Article 6.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“Consumption of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances without a doctor’s prescription”).
During the inspection it emerged that the detainee had a three-month-old son. At the time the offense was committed she had left the baby in the care of strangers and was not actually looking after him.
Juvenile affairs inspectors located the child. The boy was taken and placed in the “Nadezhda” Center for Assistance to Children Left Without Parental Care. A report was also drawn up against the mother under Article 5.35 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“Failure to fulfill duties to support and bring up minors”).
