Go stones, politics and thorny topics: Butina answered Sobchak
A State Duma deputy from Kirov Oblast, Maria Butina, reported on her Telegram channel that she was the featured guest in a new episode of the project "Ostorozhno, Sobchak." According to the parliamentarian, the interview was recorded back in the summer but has only been published now.
Butina noted that Ksenia Sobchak had long wanted to ask her "tricky questions," and the meeting at times resembled an argument: the journalist tried to persuade her of her position on the topic of Alexey Navalny*, relations between Russia and the United States, and a number of new laws adopted by the State Duma. In response, Butina set out her own arguments, emphasizing, as she stressed, "the Motherland and love for the Fatherland."
The deputy added that her favorite moment of the interview was not the arguments at all, but an episode in a Chinese teahouse where she and Sobchak played a game of Go — a game that Butina calls one of her favorites.
