Fourteen new freight routes have been launched on the Gorky Railway.

The Gorky Railway reported that in the first ten months of 2025 it developed 14 new freight train routes that run according to schedules agreed with customers. In total during this period the main line dispatched more than 250 such trains, which made it possible to carry an additional 193,000 tonnes of cargo. Russian Railways notes that trains operating on special schedules remain one of the most in‑demand services among shippers.

Kirov Oblast was among the regions where new routes appeared. Cargo is now sent in containers from Vyatka station to Novorossiysk, from Kotelnich‑2 station to the Far East toward Mys‑Astafyeva, and from Poloy station toward Samur and Astara. These routes allow Kirov enterprises to export products faster and without unnecessary transshipments.

New routes have also appeared in Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod and Perm oblasts, Tatarstan, Chuvashia and Udmurtia. According to Russian Railways, businesses are actively using container trains and "freight expresses": from January to August more than 530 container trains and 115 expedited trains were formed, which transported 1.35 million tonnes of cargo.
