A raid was carried out in Kirov to check new citizens of the Russian Federation.
As reported by the Central Military District, a raid took place on November 14 at the Oktyabrsky market.
Particular attention was paid to men of conscription age who had obtained Russian citizenship. By law they are obliged, within two weeks after taking the oath, to report to the military enlistment office and register for military service — even before receiving a Russian passport. However, practice shows that far from everyone does this.
Similar interagency inspections are being carried out across the country, including in the Kirov Region. Markets, retail outlets, depots and construction sites are being inspected — places where foreigners who have recently become Russian citizens work.
According to the inspection at Kirov’s central market, previously identified violators had already been registered for military service. Over the course of the year the region discovered dozens of such cases: citizens were subjected to administrative sanctions, and migration records were brought into order.
