A lawyer explained who is entitled to compensation for Soviet-era deposits.

      According to the specialist, the following funds are subject to compensation:

      in the Savings Bank of the RSFSR and its branches until June 20, 1991;

      in state insurance organizations — until January 1, 1992.

      The amount of compensation depends on the depositor's year of birth:

      triple compensation — for citizens born in 1945 or earlier;

      double compensation — for Russians born between 1946 and 1991.

      At the same time, payments are calculated taking into account coefficients — depending on whether the depositor has previously received compensation, RIA Novosti reports.

      The lawyer also noted that heirs or persons who paid for the depositor's funeral can receive 6,000 rubles if the account balance was 400 rubles or more.

      All compensations are made in accordance with the current government decree.
