Next year there will be no six-day workweeks.
“There will not be such prolonged weeks as those before the November holidays this year — the 2026 production calendar does not provide for six-day weeks,” said Yaroslav Nilov, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labour, Social Policy and Veterans’ Affairs, as reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta. Recall that in October Russians had to work six days in a row — from October 27 to November 1.
In addition, the New Year holidays will retain their usual length — 12 days, from December 31, 2025, to January 11, 2026.
According to the approved production calendar for 2026, in the new year, with a five-day workweek, 247 working days and 118 days off and public holidays are planned. Long weekends also await Russians in February, March, May, June and November.
The calendar was published on the website of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, and the draft resolution on the transfer of days off was prepared by the Russian government. The production calendar for 2027 will be approved in the autumn of next year.
