A Kirov resident stabbed a man to death during a meal.

      The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Kirov reported that the incident occurred on the night of November 3. The deceased was visiting an acquaintance, where the group was consuming alcoholic beverages. A conflict arose between the apartment owner — a 40-year-old Kirov resident with a prior conviction — and the guest. During the quarrel the owner stabbed his opponent in the chest and then fled the scene.

      Detectives from the criminal investigation department, together with the patrol service, promptly established the suspected perpetrator’s whereabouts and detained him. The man confessed to the crime. He discarded the knife used in the attack — it was found and seized by the police.

      The case files have been handed over to the Investigative Committee. A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Murder”). A decision is being made on whether to remand him in custody. Investigators are clarifying all the circumstances of the incident, including the reasons for the conflict that resulted in the death of one of the participants in the gathering.
