In Kirov, a 65-year-old woman who suffered a severe stroke was successfully saved. The Ministry of Health reported this.
The attack occurred in the evening while the woman was visiting her husband in the hospital. At the entrance to the building she suddenly collapsed. Staff from the Cardiology and Neurology Center immediately came to her aid.
The patient underwent a CT scan, was given a clot-dissolving drug, and was transferred to the Regional Vascular Center. There, doctors performed an endovascular thrombectomy — an operation that removes a clot from a blood vessel in the brain. A week after the procedure the woman was able to walk on her own and hardly needed any assistance.
