Russian telecom operators are preparing to raise phone and internet tariffs in 2026.

In 2026 Russians can expect another increase in the cost of communications services. The news portal Gazeta.ru, citing the results of an industry survey, writes that 96% of telecom operators plan to raise tariffs for mobile service, the Internet and television.

According to the data, almost half of companies (48%) are considering an increase in the range of 5–10%, while 16% of operators do not rule out price hikes of more than 10%. The most significant growth is forecast for bundled service packages, the rental of secure channels for businesses and secure access services.

Experts cited by the news portal note that the reason for the price increases is cost inflation. Operators are facing difficulties in developing infrastructure due to limited access to technologies and logistical challenges.

According to Rosstat, in 2025 the subscription fee for a mobile service package has already risen by 17.3%. The Federal Antimonopoly Service has stated that it is monitoring the economic justification for tariff increases on socially significant services.

It is also reported that the blocking of voice calls in the messengers WhatsApp (which has been designated an extremist organization and is banned in Russia) and Telegram has led to changes in user habits. According to experts, because of this subscribers began choosing plans with a larger number of minutes, which increased operators’ costs, even though prices had previously remained unchanged. Over the past months the average bill for Russians has risen by 15–20%.
