Mamedov's deputy was sentenced.
Today, October 27, the Pervomaisky District Court of Kirov handed down a sentence in the case of Ilya Pauzin, the former deputy to the ex-head of the Kirov Region Tourism Development Center. The court sentenced him to a fine of 220,000 rubles and a written undertaking not to leave the jurisdiction.
Pauzin listened to the decision calmly and composedly. His lawyer, Pavel Rozuvan, did not attend the hearing.
Recall that Pauzin was charged with aiding and abetting fraud. According to the investigation, at the end of 2023 the Tourism Development Center signed contracts to purchase shoes and clothing for volunteers at the “Russia” exhibition in Moscow. Pauzin admitted that he handed over part of the funds — 68,000 rubles — to his superior, Ruslan Mamedov, who was the instigator of the theft. Pauzin himself did not profit from these actions and fully admitted his guilt.
During the previous hearing the defendant explained that he had gone along with it “out of his own misunderstanding of the possible punishment.” The damage caused to the region had already been reimbursed during the investigation.
It should be noted that earlier the prosecutor had requested a fine of 300,000 rubles for the defendant, while lawyer Pavel Rozuvan said this was too harsh. Read more here.
