A resident of Nagorsky District will be refunded the money stolen by scammers.
As reported by the supervisory authority, a resident of the settlement of Kobra became a victim of fraud: perpetrators persuaded her to transfer 45,000 rubles to a so‑called “safe account.” After the transfer it turned out that the money had been cashed out through accounts of nominee persons residing in Astrakhan Oblast.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud”).
Without awaiting the completion of the investigation, the district prosecutor applied to the court seeking to recover from the account holder the amount of unlawful enrichment and interest for the use of another’s funds. The court granted the prosecutor’s claims in full.
The enforcement of the decision and the actual compensation of the damage are under the supervision of the Nagorsky District Prosecutor’s Office.
