Murashko: Russians "feed on empty calories"

      Russians are increasingly choosing products that provide no benefit to the body, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said. According to him, a taste for sweet and fatty foods is a biological human trait, but today it is reinforced by aggressive marketing of unhealthy foods. RT in Russian reports.

      “We have shifted to consuming large amounts of empty calories that, essentially, we do not need for our vital functions,” the head of the Health Ministry said at the plenary session of the National Congress “National Healthcare.”
