In Kirov Oblast, a convict created a mural about the heroes of the special operation.
A mural titled "For Our Own" has appeared on a concrete fence in the residential area of Medical Correctional Institution No. 12 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Kirov Region. The central image of the composition is a Russian soldier carrying a rescued child in his arms. The background is composed of ruined buildings symbolizing the realities of a combat zone.
According to the FSIN press service, the mural was created over the course of two weeks by one of the inmates. The work used airbrushing techniques and water-dispersion paints that are weather-resistant. The composition measures 4 by 10 meters.
The project’s distinctive feature is that the mural depicts not a commander or large-scale battles, but an ordinary soldier. The artist sought to show not only the conduct of military operations but also the experiences, thoughts, and feelings of soldiers on the front line.
This is the second mural created by inmates in the penal colonies of the Kirov Region. This summer a similar composition appeared in Penal Colony No. 11 — it depicted a serviceman against the backdrop of the state flag of Russia.
