Simakov commented on the death of a young man under the wheels of a train in Novovyatsk.

Today, during a meeting of the Duma, those present recalled a tragic incident in which a young man was killed under the wheels of a train in Novovyatsk. We wrote about it here.

As soon as the tragedy was mentioned, the head of the Kirov administration, Vyacheslav Simakov, immediately took the floor. He noted that work to ensure safety at such crossings is carried out in the city on an ongoing basis: "We carry out this work constantly. This is in no way connected to the fact that an accident occurred. Accidents happen here for various reasons weekly. And even before this we looked at how to arrange approaches, outdoor lighting, and so on."

Deputy Alexander Nikulin said that no one is blaming the administration. "But we must take measures," he added. "Improve the approaches, install information boards. To minimize possible accidents."

It was also reported at the meeting that on the 16th representatives of the Department of Urban Economy, the territorial administration, Russian Railways (RZD), the Directorate of Improvement, the Ministry of Transport and Duma deputies went to the site. They found that the lamps and signs are indeed there. Moreover, additional lights and signs were recently installed, and it is planned to further strengthen the lighting on Lineynaya Street, opposite the stop. The issue was worked through with RZD. In the near future the company plans to install a rubber surface on the crossing instead of the temporary wooden one that is there now. The speaker added that trains sound their horns and there is also a traffic light. However, people do not always pay attention to them — right in front of the raid participants several people stepped onto the crossing on a red light.

The meeting also touched on buses in Novovyatsk. A proposal was voiced to launch, using a subsidy, a direct, no-transfer bus from microdistrict 41 to the center of Kirov bypassing Novovyatsk, that is, via the bypass road. This will reduce passenger flow and spare the district from constant overcrowding. Simakov replied that this issue could be considered next year, when the city receives new buses. However, the deputies urged him to do it sooner.

In addition, Simakov said that KPAT is considering increasing the number of buses operating beyond the crossing. There are currently five.
