In Kirov, a 48-year-old local woman was convicted of killing her cohabitant during an argument. She was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder). According to the Kirov Region prosecutor’s office, on the evening of December 10, 2024, a conflict arose between the woman and her cohabitant over jealousy after consuming alcohol. In the apartment of building No. 162 on Sovetskaya Street she stabbed the man in the chest with a kitchen knife. He died at the scene from the wound. The court upheld the prosecution’s case and sentenced her to nine years’ imprisonment in a general-regime penal colony. The convicted woman attempted to appeal the sentence, claiming she had acted in a state of intense emotional disturbance. However, the Kirov Regional Court left the decision unchanged. The sentence has entered into legal force.
