      In Kirov, a 48-year-old local woman was convicted of killing her cohabitant during an argument. She was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder). The court upheld the prosecution’s case and sentenced her to nine years’ imprisonment in a general-regime penal colony. The convicted woman attempted to appeal the sentence, claiming she had acted in a state of intense emotional disturbance. However, the Kirov Regional Court left the decision unchanged.
