      Recently in Kotel'nich, during an inspection of one of the retail outlets, the police discovered illegal electricity consumption. A magnetic device that distorted the meter's actual readings had been installed on the entrepreneur's meter. Energosbyt specialists recorded the violation. The entrepreneur was issued an invoice for more than 600,000 rubles. He was billed for the electricity consumed based on a standard consumption rate with an increased multiplier of 1.5. In addition, an administrative case was initiated against the businessman under Article 7.27.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation, which provides for punishment for causing damage by deception or abuse of trust. The energy company noted that the calculation based on the standard rate with the increased multiplier proved to be significantly higher than the entrepreneur's actual electricity costs. The offender admitted his guilt and settled the debt. This decision allowed him to avoid court proceedings, late fees and payment of the state fee.
